Ngl this is huge for me because when I lived in San Francisco I used to get The New Yorker in print and read it on the 30X bus every morning at 7:00 A.M. in my polyester Express pencil skirt that, in hindsight, was probably too tight for the “professional environment.” I was working as an easily replaceable cog at a massive tech implementation consulting firm and I would dream about moving to NYC and not having to wear a pencil skirt and maybe maybe maybe getting something published by The New Yorker one day 🥲
This is a humor piece but I am so serious about these things I cannot stress that enough. Thank you all for being among the earliest supporters of my writing.
